Description

Here is my biggest problem with the current US administration's take on domestic economics. I never bought into Trickle Down Theory, but if there is any validity in the money trickling down to those with less money, then the overtime bill completely works against that.

I agree with you, under that theory the rich get richer and poor remain poor. But what really annoys me about my government is the fact that there is never enough money for the needs of Americans right here at home; but there is always money to help other nations, totally ludicrous. The USA first!

I completely agree with you...my hubby works in the steal industry and falls under the "or do you want us to take this out of country" LOL...and to boot they get tax breaks under the current administration for taking businesses to places like mexico where they all ready gain because there is no "health coverage" spendatures and they only pay employees there $2.00/ hr for what an emplyee here makes $14.00/hr. Very very very sad...my hubby has spent more time laid off because his company has remained american based while its competitors have plants in Mexico and other countries and because of that-those companies can easily outbid this US company...SAD SAD SAD that my 2 small kids suffer because of this....and to boot my hubby is a Police Officer who makes a WHOLE WHOPPING $7.03/hr to risk his life everyday...with NO benifits and alot of his time falling under "volunteer" work for free because the smaller depts have no budget...what happened to all this needed homeland security?? LOL OK sorry to rant...I love my freedoms I love the US but I HATE HATE HATE the current administration as me and my family have spent most of the last 4 years trying not to be homeless and bairly able to feed our kids...and to make it EVEN funnier...take our jobs so we have no where to turn other then Welfare (which I HATE as I feel like I am groveling) and THEN do MAJOR cutbacks in that system and EVERY other system which is there to help us "middle class" people :O( Its enough to make you wanna jump off a bridge or at the very least pull your hair out. OK honest I am done now...you just hit a sore spot for me LOL :O) And just to top off my rant and point...my hubby has 3 job...1 full-time as a welder...and 2 pt-time police officer jobs...one of which he is det. sgt. in the dept...and you wanna know what he made this year? Just a little over $15,000 so guess what with mounting gas prices, electirc prices and the growing prices of EVERYTHING else because of that and NO increase in wages...WE might as well just be standing in breadlines somewhere and looking for the nearest shelter because that's what its getting to...ok now I am all done LOL HUGS and FAB cartoon :O) V

ann0314, So sorry to hear about your family's problems! I got laid off this October, but I don't have a family and so am doing OK so far. $7.03/hr for a police officer plus required "volunteer" time??!?! That's insane! Perhaps that could be another cartoon... :-(

I remember seeing on the news, George bush talking to an older woman who said that she had to work seven jobs just to get by, and George looked on in wonder and said "you work seven jobs? See folks, only in America could someone get seven jobs." He just didn't get it (granted the only thing he's gotten in the past few years is richer). This is coming from a man who hasn't broken a sweat on any job in his life. Didn't a number of his businesses go under and people lost their jobs and life savings, and didn't he walk away unscathed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Even W's father (you know, that other George Bush who was president for a few years...) called this trickle down theory "voodoo economics." You know your an (insert favorite explative here) when your own father won't support you...

The money is trickling into the financial markets for speculation. Its only trickling down when the companies are properly taxed or they do reinvestments in new jobs (for humans not machines). It doesnt trickle down by mere affluence anymore.
