Description
It was a war the Kess did not want.
It was a war the Humans could not win.
It was a war that was fought, none the less.
In their arrogance and hubris, the Humans mistook the Kess' overtures of peace and willingness to retreat before the Human's uncontrolled expansion as fear, weakness, and submission. However, when pressed to the brink of destruction, the Kess did what they had to - they attacked swiftly, violently, and without hesitation. In the end, only the Human children were spared.
The Kess gave the fallen Humans a hero's burial and sanctified the earth so they might find peace and tranquility on hallowed ground. They raised the children in their homes and taught them their Human heritage - the good and the bad - in the hope that, when the Humans returned, they might live in peace and harmony, one with the other.
