It looks a bit like a carrack with it's castle except only on one end. In my corruption I once teased my Cuban girlfriend that we got together because of my Dutch roots and we are Flemish in common. Blame it on a book "Oars, Sails and Steam" that had drafted pen and inks of a plethora of boats through history.

This view shows the "sterncastle" of the vessel. This feature in later centuries would transform into the high sides of the decks known as the Quarterdeck and capped with the poopdeck. The forward castle, the forecastle, or f'o'c'sle, is not on this vessel. The "castle" was a feature on early warships of the middle/medieval age that in pre-gunpowder and cannon centuries was manned by land soldiers with bows and arrows, crossbows and spears, who would fight as if they were still manning land-based castle battlements. Ships in the early centuries were not formed into national navies, land armies were the call of the day in defense. Ships were only modified to fight if an army was to be transported over water and needed to protect supplies and the men. Nice photo.
