Description
This is the globular star cluster M15 located in the constellation Pegasus. It contains tens of thousands of stars, and has one of the densest cores of all globular clusters.
Photographed with a Nikon D100, ISO200, 4-minute exposure. Camera was at prime focus on a 14" SCT with an f6.3 focal reducer.

Fabulous capture of this star cluster! Incredible constellations, far far away and so huge! Impressive work, stunning to see these deep space objects! :)

Impressive! excelleant scope tracking - guilding! with real film a truly difficult art! just wonder why the use of 200 instead of 800 or 1000? thank you!!

I only use iso 200 with the D100. This camera has unbelievable problems with graininess at higher iso settings, so I always use the lowest available (200). Iso 800 gives unusable images, and even 400 is very bad.

Great image, especially for only four mins.

Fantastic capture Jared. Excellent focus, tracking and composition. 14" grabs a lot of light - especially with the reducer. Do you ever use film with your scope? Thanks for sharing

If it were possible to fly-by these amazing galaxies, star clusters, celestial bodies etc in a lifetime instead of staying here on Earth, it would be a difficult decision for me to make. Excellent!!!

the most facinating objects in our galaxy. Since I'm interesting in astrophoto, I'm totaly mesmerized by those "mysterious objects". When I did learn how they were placed around the galactic plane/core it has bring me a great thinking about this intelligence which has produce this incredible organization. Thanks for sharing, G.
