Description
Searching further into the long forgotten pirate base, the crew of "Marigold's Folly" have already discovered spoils that could bring them a small fortune, but curiosity and the promise of greater riches urge them to search deeper into the dark lair. Suddenly the travellers' lights illuminate a military grade warbot blocking their way. Five breaths are collectively held as the next few seconds reveal if the sentry is a deactivated treasure... or a deadly foe ready to deal with the crew's intrusion.....

This is cool. No complaints, except for the guy in the middle. Or maybe it's a girl. That pose doesn't look right.

yah, it's a girl and of all things it's a gun pose. Now that you mention it, it looks better from the front.

The guard doesn't seem to have anything hazardous in the way of hardware (razor gun, scorch blaster, mini plasma gun, quadruple light lance pair, etc.), so perhaps it is not as much a threat as an armed one would be...?

Depends. Not every bot is made at the George Lucas School of Design... sort of silly to have a bot carry a gun when it can be built in. There are three large ports and two small on it's torso, not to mention the array making up its head. It could easily be sporting a laser weapon or two, machine guns, or perhaps a plasma or fusion gun within all that. Not to mention it's probably highly mobile and lethaly strong it's probably a significant threat. This is an illustration for a Traveller role-playing game adventure I've created for my players. This particular bot is armed with an onboard laser and an internal submachine gun.

Highly dangerous bot ...

Yes indeed. In the fifteen years since I made this there has been a few advancement in robotics. I may need to bring it up to date :)
