Description

"The wonders of nature are an overflowing cup. Any artist inspired by nature will never suffer creative thirst." --anon

There is so much about the natural world that we will never fully understand. There are some truly amazing things to be learned and observed. One such item is the Golden Spiral. The Golden Spiral is a mystical shape that is an absolute in both abstract mathematics and chaotic nature. Its first know discovery was by the Greek philosopher Pythagorus in the 5th century B.C. It is repeated throughout nature; from the complex construction of a nautilus shell, your fingerprint, your DNA, to the swirling cloudmass of a hurricane or giant construction of our own galaxy, and even in the simple curl of a vine. One of my interests is Sacred Geometry, though I am quite a novice in my understanding of it. I do however always keep an eye out to see if I can spot it in action. The Golden Mean Proportion has been used by artists for centuries when composing their masterworks. If you are not already familiar with it, please take a look at the preceding links. Maybe you can incorporate it into your own art. -----

"My new Hypothesis: If we're built from Spirals while living in a giant Spiral, then is it possible that everything we put our hands to is infused with the Spiral?" --Max Cohen in the motion picture Pi -----

You've managed to spiral my mind... I agree with what you say except the idea to use the golden number proportion in my shots... I'll never do that.

Ah, I remember something about (sqrt(5)-1)/2 or something like that, works pretty fine, universal and Fibonacci had some nice theory about it too! :) Wonderful work, Kort, love to see the inventivity of nature!
