Description

wow, it's been a long time since my last post! sorry it's been so long, but i've been mostly writing lately instead of drawing, and the drawing that i *have* been doing is for my art class, so it's all pretty boring. i did this piece as a birthday present to a friend on deviantart (who turned 21 in august). the idea that spawned it: what do you get a guy who has everything? something he already has, of course. in Hikaru's case, a housewife who doesn't need fishnets and a garter belt to look sexy. about the title: after i'd done the original sketch (which is actually just graphite on white sketch paper, bic no.2 as usual), and i'd gone on to the postwork, i was thinking about Leonardo Da Vinci, so i'd been thinking about the Vitruvian Man sketch, and i kind of realized that my sketch was basically a study in sexuality (barely-clothed male + water + cigarette + handcuffs...). about the subject: my pal Lex (whom i haven't actually seen for about three years; this was done from old portrait references) is a hobbyist-chain-smoking (smokes when he has nothing better to do) bisexual (but taken) hockey player with a handcuff fetish. 6' something half japanese guy who talks a little slowly when it comes to english. (and for legality's sake -- he happens to be 21, so he's a legal adult pretty much everywhere he could ever want to go.) about the digital work: after the sketch was scanned, rest was done in openCanvas 3. the background is a collage of stock slides of Da Vinci's sketchbooks. the collage was compiled in black and white, on several layers of varying opacities. after that, i made an overlay layer with a brownish-gold color to make the piece look aged. (you can achieve a similar effect in real life by soaking a piece of paper in tea.)

Quite intersting. Tell me that first thing that comes to your mind immediately after I say anything. I got an art class and a brief glimpse of your personality in less than one minute.Cool!
