Description

One day I came home just to see this fella on my door, suffice it to say I did not go near, I knda backed up ......I triend to get him off the door by throwing some pebbles at him but he seemed quite comfy, just did not want to move?....well my last resort was to spray him off with the hose and so I did ......Well a couple weeks later he showed up on the back yard tree (now destroyed by Hurricane Wilma) and I took some shots with my zoom lens :o), This time around he seemed a bit camera shy, because he scurried around the tree when he saw me, maybe he was afraid I was going to give him another spray down!! ...DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THIS LIZARD?

It looks like a Knight Anole a non-native Florida lizard. Haven't seen any here in central Florida, but will be sure to keep my eye out for them. :-) Cool effects and photo kind of looks like a postcard :-) Have a happy thanksgiving!

It is hard to gauge its size from this photo, but if under 10 inches long it could be a Carolina Anole (commonly sold in pet shops as 'chameleons', though it is not the same species at all). Most anoles do have the ability to change their hue to blend with their surroundings. Sorry you had to use the hose; these are not an aggressive species.

Nice shot. Sorry to hear the tree went due to Wilma. As to the reptile's name, he looks to me like a Nigel. Possibly a Colin.
