Description
Location: 3rd planet of minor dead planet located near the edge of a arm of the milky way galaxy.
Date: 745 million years since precursor disappearance from the universe. This race known as 'humans' are no longer found on this plane of existance. Only limited artifacts have been recovered.
Covering over 3 million miles of space, centered over the non descript precursor home world is a living breathing ecosystem. Through technology both lost and incomprehensible this vast air only ecosystem stretches across space. Huge beyond imagining, 5 million trillion cubic miles of space are filled with innumerable life forms.
The precursors prior to their trancendance/acension were masters of gravity, capable of controlling gravity to within the inch or covering millions of miles. Within each reef, some hundreds of miles across are semi-sentient precursor personalities. Each monitors and controls the gravity of the reef under its control. Between the trillions of reefs and billions of small captures planetoids a massive number of alien intelligences have since evolved.
Hundreds of millions of years of evolution have resulted in life not even close to what once existed on that old dying planet.
************
Warships of the 'Ira Quartus' free trade organization arrive at a minor 3 mile reef system only known by number 10292.
Tensions have been strained recently with the 'Ondoraurc', a race intent on controlling all of local space.
Control of this region is critical to peace in this region of the biosphere.
Best not to damage the reef. Below them sits a brown sentinel. Left over from another ancient race also extinct for over 500 million years. The sentinel will allow no upstart race to damage any reef under its protection.
