Description
I'm back and not making a fuss about it! I'm VERY angry with this image and with my stupid PC. This whole project took an agonysing 2 weeks to finish. In the end it was a battle with my own patience and with my PC, who reffused to help me, by crashing 20 times a day. What you see now as the final result is actually the third version of the same concept, and my PC is fully responsably for making it happen, by corrupting 2 other versions of this project-something 3 days' work in total...
Enough with my complaints, let's see some things about the image...
CONCEPT:
-it's a personal approach on an idealized representation of a place for mental and spiritual recreation.
-for a better understanding of this image you should consider knowing:
-the climate is subtropical
-the sun gloriously shines from the left as it goes behind the hexagonal rock formations that cover a huge area of land
-the hex-shaped rocks have an average height of 20 meters(~60 feet)
-there are some paths at ground level, through the tall rocks (I think I'll make this path thing materialize into an image sometime)
TECHNICAL DETAILS:
-filesize of 180MB
-original resolution of 4800x5600
-not so many layers used, something around 60
SOFTWARE DETAILS:
-the chapel and rock formations modeled, textured and rendered using Lightwave 7
-the sky and palms rendered in Vue Professional 4.5
-both planets done in Photoshop CS
-integration and combining of scene elements done in Photoshop CS
-as some of you may already know, I DO NOT use photos in my works, and this is no exception, all is digitally done
So, that's it. Two weeks. You should do a FULL VIEW, just for the sake of it.(otherwise your computer will get infected with spyware when you close the browser. Mwhahahahahahahahhahahahaha!!!!!)
Dedicated to my dearest dear.

My sympathy for your computer struggles- I think many of us can relate. An outstanding image; the melding of the seperate renders looks seamless from here. The planets are impressive as well.
