Whilst the world is built on economics and the trade in weapons continues with the major countries, including China, then the struggle will continue. One day however, all this WILL change. Thanks for the series Pascale (and the b'day greeting from yesterday).

The picture is perfect..... a very lovely child in a PADMASANA. As regards Tibet, it is a sad story about it's occupation and the genocide that followed after that. How peaceful demonstrators were targeted and killed........ pathetic I must say. Having met the Dalai Lama himself (very briefly) on a visit to Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh, India)where he now resides with his followers... I can tell, this man is our future ambassador of world Peace. An icon of Peace. He is so pragmatic in his approach and so dynamic , he really impressed me. He was the first world religious leader who was willing to reach upto Baghdad and ask Saddam Hussain to surrender rather than create a War situation. Alas he couldn't go due to severe security threats but his initiative in this regard is commendable. On a more personal level I feel that after becoming a minority in your own land and then fight for freedom from the occupation is going to be a herculian task. (Again I am not a good Political commentator so I won't stake my bet on my views)I just hope and pray that one day some meanigful dialogue takes place and the freedom of Tibet is ressolved through Peaceful means for which the co operation of the world body is very very essential. As for the Tibetian culture..... apart from the pollution part of it... you can see the rest of it still growing and thriving at Dharamshala. A culture so rich and based on Non violence and world Peace can never die. It will live on. I will make it a point to visit your site.....thanks for the link.:O))

This little girl is a real hope. One day tibetans will have their country back. Unfortunately, there's no petrol in Tibet ! One day economic views wont be sufficient to rule the world. Let's hope this day will come soon.

Impressive conclusion of this series: it will be the future generation that knows what will happen and will have to either endure oppression or be freed! The latter is to be hoped and so the struggle goes on! Excellent work, Pascale! :)

I agree, China should leave Tibet and they also should give up the idea that Taiwan is part of China.

What a beautiful little girl! Only insecure nations need to be imperialist. One can only hope that China grows out of this childish phase.

As long as there are voices and images from individuals like yourself, there will be ope. It is wen the voices are stopped and we no longer see, then a culture will have died. Let us ope this will never happen for all those who are oppressed by governements blinded by their own rage.

Perhaps the most moving of this series, and my favorite after the old woman. The future of Tibet, may she know her country in a free condition one day. Wonderful capture!

I simply had to comment on your extremely elegant and powerful 'Free Tibet' series,Pascale.Your passion for this subject is in every brilliant image.I have been admiring them one by one, each carefully composed image presenting another angle, visually fleshing out your heartfelt passion and compassion for this magnificent and horribly oppressed culture and its people. You have honored RR with this series Pascale.Because of you,we have been treated to a rare RR experience, brilliant photography with thought-provoking depth of spirit and conscience.I could certainly wax poetic on the technical merits of each image you have shared with us,but I would rather address your overall achievement, which is,that you have expressed your viewpoint with clarity and the utmost of elegance. If a series can be called 'eloquent',then this is certainly a perfect example.I will conclude by saying your 'finale',this poignant and most touching image of hope and purity, has touched my heart in a way few photographs could or ever have.I am so honored to know you,Pascale.I hope this series ultimately finds the greater audience it so richly deserves and that your dreams of a free Tibet will one day no longer be a dream but a reality....Brava sweetie.Hugs, your friend,Marlene
