I am an amateur artist from Finland. Have been working with Bryce since 1999. A couple of exhibitions in Finland.
I like to work with Bryce 5 because of the endless possibilities to experiment it gives. Change one value to another and You may have a totally different kind of image. I usually make all objects with Bryce - if not possible, I use Wings 3D.BIOBorn 1975, Lappeenranta, Finland. Drawing and painting as a hobby since childhood. Graduated from senior secondary school 1994. Started making CG art 1996.
I had my first exhibition at Dec 2000, it consisted of different images, Bryce, 2D and even a couple of watercolours. In my second exhibition, Dec 2001, I had mostly sceneries and abstracts, all with Bryce. After that, I decided to work with sceneries with a fantasy aspect. I had an exhibition at Nov 2003 with a group of images I really like.

interesting image. Looks dusty and dry. Thanx for your explanation of what you did with the sand, but my question is WHY? What is the visual effect that happens as a result of doing that? I guess I should go try it out myself and see what difference it makes.
Blue_Spawn
Good sand efect, however, sand isn't usually reflective :-)

I would like to see more explanations posted with art work, it helps me learn and it can't harm. Who can just jump in 3D C.G with out help. I think your image is great and the explanation to. Thanks.

Thanks for Your comments, all of them. To zescanner: the sand looked boring and unreal with a normal sand texture, and I wanted a more glittering look to it. To Blue_Spawn: You are right, but I wanted to make a different kind of sand -- perhaps the refraction thing was not necessary after all.

It's me again.. I just looked at an earlier version of the image, and noticed that the sand was not so bad without the refraction. Perhaps I will make a few more experiments with this.

Cool, like how you did the dunes! :-)
