Description
For the first colonists on Sirius3, life was harsh.
The local evolution had brought about some rather nasty species.
Mainly this was due to their very aggressive digestive juices,
which evolved that way, having to break up those extreme hard silicon /carbon compounds.
It was a lovely planet, with woods inviting for a picnic, the first colonists tho
would have been more carefull had they known theyd be the main subject of the picnic they planned.
Typical forrest shot here.
A family of Silicamites is feeding on the remains of a poor colonist, even dissolving his Armor.
Dragonflys watch carefully over their breed.
There are Farmer plants , called so , cause they life in symbiosys with those large Fungi, that will corrode anything with time,
giving them shelter, for being nourished by there leftovers.
The huge Bombardment Beetle in the back is not impressed at all, actually its feeding on plants , but it has the
meanest selfdefence on the planet.
It is able to shoot a very corrosive secretion over a distance of a 100 yards , keeping any enimy away.
EnjoyDj
P.S there is such a thing as a bombardment beetle on earth , dont know its name tho.
I was very fascinated seeing a documentation about it.
It actually shoots by mixing acedic acid with some caustic liquid in chambers near each of its legs.
Its the only insect that can cross an anthive unharmed , no joke , google it.
Wouldnt that give a nice picture series ..Zulaan? Hehe
3 Million polys , and not one of them not modeld by myself , hohohoho, apart from the skull... ahhh to be honest

Ah... a bug's life. And a poor colonist's just ends. :o) Something very pastoral (in a grim creepy sort of way) about this image. Well done, sir.

WHEW! Need A tank instead of a tractor, and an RPG for harvesting radishes. (grin) Once again you have shown your terrific story and artistic talents.

Hmmmm? Think I'll pass on the picnic and just stay inside, thank you very much! Great composition, Manfred! You continue to amaze--and sometimes startle--us with your mix of humor and the macabre.
