Ok...I understand now the problem with spirals. Besides that they are cliche. The big problem for me is getting them to balance! I struggled with this for two days trying to get some balance in the composition. The big weight of the last piece upper right was the problem. I tried zooming in and out, rotating, etc., but other elements of the design would come into play that were undesirable. I had originally done the background with the woodgrain cuts upper left because that helped to keep the eye in the frame, plus after following the spiral inward it helped bring the eye back out toward the big mass upper right. But I had a big open space bottom right that combined with the large piece upper right to make it even MORE unbalanced. SO...what I did was add woodgrain cuts to the lower right. This helps support the large piece of the spiral, plus acts as a visual stop. Still not real happy with the compositional balance, but it's close enough for me. Whatcha think?

Personally I think it looks lovely. I tend to sit back and look at the fractal as a whole. I usually don't tune in on one portion of it until after that. Then I look at each of the pretty details, the textures, the colors separately. Looks good to me! V (:

Would have never guessed the struggle, since it looks beautifully balanced to me. The spiral is enough off-center to make your fresh composition interesting and appealing..and the cuts lend perspective. I like the design very much, and the color mix is an eye-catching and beautiful one. Very nice!

Balancing a spiral is really a challenge. But you haven't done bad here :-) And I like the textures.

Hey, anything that has this much thought and work applied to it, is a grand job well done! Are those minty flavored kisses and peppermint patties? (=

It must be nice to have the top Ace in the hole to win out over prior efforts! All elements work together well immediately on viewing the image - super.

I agree, this is a delightful composition. The bright colors of the small elements add a weight that you may not have considered, bringing the eye into the center and yet allowing a wide view. It's very lovely!

Fascinating jewel- like image. As for balance - only you can be the judge of that! But personally I would shift the necklace down so that the bauble on top is fully visible. Just a thought!

I've never said something about this image, but the reason was not the image, but my bad English. For me is this still ever one of the most beautiful and unusual and astonishing spirals at all. It represents in unique way the unbelievable tempo in which you have conquered UF and shows the infinite possibilities to create fantastic images with UF. I admire the determination with which you work constantly on the improvement of your abilities.
