I like the new background. The colored dots in the other background looked odd. I like the hull texture and the shader/specular effect over the ship's surface. I did some models that have something very similar to the "energy sphere" objects on your ships. I think you have a good start on creating an interesting fleet. Do you plan on using these in a project of some kind?
