Description
Quartet.
Mythalandria and Malachite, Sansafrane and Dite,
Cast against oncoming storms, the quartet stood in fright,
Matched with heart and stone, wit and blade,
To stand their ground their promise made,
To fight with honour brave and true
To curse their foes both old and new,
Lifted skyward Dite fell first,
From a warlocks hand pure fire had burst
Malachite crazed in frenzied rage
Severed the head of the wiry sage
Then fell also, a piercing dart,
Burning ice, fired his heart,
His dying call to those still left,
To revenge in full his untimely death
Sansafrane fought with all her strength
And almost lasted the battles length
Yet fell at the end to a lucky blow
But whispered to Mythalandria

The cadence marches well in this ode to battle. You summon the image of a desperate, and heroic struggle. One small trip-up third line from the end: maybe use "it's" and rephrase to "...living that's the hardest part." -- Dick
