Citizens, allow me to present my card. The Dark Angel's trail brought me here. The Whitby Indcident gave me the lead that I needed.
BIO
Hi, I'm Ian. Wife, two cats, motorcycle and a house full of WWII military aviation paraphenalia. I'm a bit of a 'happy snap-per', currently wrestling 'The Camera of Doom', a Cannon EOS 300d, into submission. Began career in an area where photography was part of the job, and it was done largely 'at the run' or through various doors, including helicopter doors. The documentary/narrative style is my forte, and I still prefer to work outside with minimal equipment, although I am now getting accustomed to working in a studio environment, to the extent that I have my own portable lighting rigs. My specialist subjects are bands, (either gigs or promotional) and the Gothic/Alternative scene, but not to the exclusion of anything else. Have worked with other photographers who specialise in the same fields of interest. Still learning to walk as far as Photoshop is concerned. It's a great way to learn about the art of photography, meet all kinds of people and make friends. Hope to make more here.

Ooops... "MERLIN 24" (sorry!) Oh - Before I forget... This engine was from a Beaufighter which crashed into the ground during WW2 - the crew sadly did not survive. The engines were both recovered a couple of years ago & often accompany one another at these shows - surely a tribute to the engineering quality of a bygone era, and a tribute to the many who fell during WW2

Indeed, this is a living tribute to those of WW2. Cool shot, not one that many of us are likely to see. I'll bet that baby was "LOUD!"

Fantastic! I have seen something like this on the history channel where they were demonstrating the Merlins carburator ctting out. Any chance your friend could take a couple hundred photos for reference images? Did your ears still work afterwards?

Glad you explained this one! Thought perhaps a giant fan to blow the er, unpleasant chaps away. Cool shot with the flame and lights.

...And the sky that I used in 'The Cleansing' was taken the same day during a typical Scots summer deluge!

Wow! What a stunning picture! Reeeeally like the flame coming out of the exhaust stacks! As a USAF pilot and history buff I agree that the picture does some justice to those who served so bravely in WWII. Keep up the good work!
