(the original shot was a slide)
No postwork, only framed with Photoshop 7
Another photography of the serie of Giancarlo made in the "Bosco Fontana".
Surface of 230 hectares. A complex forest very well conserved, made in a mixed of several latifoglie. It represents a property left at death one of the ancient vegetation of the Plain of the Po river, residual of a park that the Gonzaga, Lords of Mantova, had begun to form towards the end of XIV century. Around of the year 1500, the forest extended from Goito until Marmirolo and Soave, occupying approximately 2000 hectares of surface. Sadly devastated from the wars, during which it was an object of vandalistic destructions, after a long series of deforestation for the reduction to agrarian cultivation. It was declared inalienable in 1871, step in 1910 to the patrimony of the company of state for the state property forests.
Thank you for all your kinds comments on the first shot of the serie, of Giancarlo posted yesterday :

Nature is always being assaulted by us humans. I wish I knew what it would take for use to learn and appreciate the land. Helping it not only to survive but also in its maintenance. Thank you for sharing.

A sad history of devastated forests (welcome in the Netherlands where the last old forest was chopped down more than a century ago).... Hedera helix will find its way up to the canopee anyway! Wonderful capture, another play with perspective! :)
