Since the first time I've seen animals in cage I have realize that we (human) have a serious problem. We take them in cage (jail) for what crime??? Whatever, a great shot and thanks to share. Wish you a nice sunday, G.

I agree it is poignant, and it looks like this animal needs to be kept in better conditions. however, marmosets and tamarins are limited to the atlantic forests of brasil, a habitat less extensive and more threatened that the amazon rainforest (over 90% is gone). consequently, all marmoset and tamarin species are endangered, and so captive breeding is essential. zoos can be sad places, but would extinction really be better ?
