Sandy Blythe 1962-2005 Sandy Blythe was an inspirational athlete, leader and businessman. After a promising AFL career was cut short by a motor vehicle accident as a teenager, ending a lifelong dream and goal to play the sport he loved, he chose to throw his natural athletic ability and unrivaled drive and passion onto the basketball court. Julie...I have no words to say except I pray that you will always remember this friend that came into your life...of course you will do that, but I mean remember all the little things that he did for you when you were first injured. I can relate to this issue since I my son is in a wheelchair due to a car accident in 1987, just a few days past his 21st birthday. He is only four years younger than your dear friend. You've made me tear up my dear, but those of us that deal with this type of injury, know how the others feel when something bad happens. I pray that God will release your pain and give you the memories and the fun...that's what his life should be remembered as. Thank you for this tribute Julie...it made me think about how blessed my family is to still have our son, Dion, and I know that your family is glad to have you too. Please Dear Jesus, Give my friend Julie peace and comfort during these hard times...help her to remember her friend as he was when she was first injured. Let her know that we all care for her and will continue to do that...I ask this in your name.....AMEN. I hope this helps Julie. Write me if you need some TLC. Linda C

Julie, I have only just come across this and I just want to say that I am holding you in my heart. For the loss of a friend and mentor is something that stays with us forever. The empty wheechair and court strikes a cord of sadness that words could never convey.
