I haven't got a clue what it might be, but it's gorgeous. Imagine the time it took just to create those statues on the roof? And of course it's a great shot too - as always :D

Andreas, this is one of your most finest images to date. You have captured the architecture to perfection and if I didn't know you better I would have accused you of scanning a postcard. The relationship between the pale stonework, shadows and blue sky is truly a great achievement and I bow down before you with respect...well, let's not go quite that far, but I will say that this is truly a Whacko Zacko Cracko!

Nice shot...it is the Monumento a Vittorio Emmanuele II.some locals call it the "typewriter". if you would see it from another angle, you would also see the multiple stairways leading up to the "temple". it was built in the end of the 19th century.

Thank you carmello. I did see it from all angles i think, but this was the one that pleased me the most....and it was also the only one i could capture without getting hundreds of tourists in it, lol.

Such a beautiful image. I know what you mean about tourists always getting in the way. I just HATE it, when that happens to me, even though those people give those images a rather "natural" and "realistic" touch, because they just are there...

Fantastic POV for this monument ! I've seen that Carmello has told you the name... Shame on you ;o)))) It's one of the most famous in Rom and you don't know his name ;o))))))) Lol ! Well known with the name of "Typewriter"... by the Romans ! It's an imposing monument built up in 1885 according to architect G.Sacconi's plan to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the kingdom of Italy. A beautiful shot Andreas !!! Hugs. V

Fabulous shot Andreas... this tour promises a lot ! Excellent photography ! About the building Im not very sure, but I think it is a huge monument for the king Victor Manuel, who unified Italy.

Lovely shot of the "typewritter" Andreas, though it comes up a little dark in the midrange on my monitor. This IS a great angle and stellar shot!
