Chris Foss' influence? Definitely, especially as to scale; I would also say Vincent Di Fate, as it has that crisp, focused, 'hard science' look about it. Well done. My Vote

Cool, awesome lighting!!!!

Wow, this has 'Chris Foss' written all over it. In my haste to post this message, I thought 'Grey Lensman' by E.E. 'Doc' Smith before reading your comment. Now I'm hoping you'll do the cover of the Panther edition of 'Galactic Patrol' !!

Interesting texture. To be honest, the planet could do with some improvement, creating a sense that this hulk is really orbiting at 300 or 400 km height

Thanks for the nice comments! 'Galactic Patrol' - its possible! My own favourite from those editions is 'First Lensman', though not one I would attempt a version of... RobertJ - I would be interested in more feedback on the planet: I tried more/less water, more/less alien, more/less habited... What changes would you make? Thanks again to you all for your feedback and comments Garry

The texture and rotting hull really make this for me. Fantastic work and well deserves a vote.

brilliant work, i have always been a long term Foss fan, and seeing one of my models used in this image makes it doubly enjoyable, thanks (would love that texture if your offering it?)

This is a very grand, detailed work. As if, it seems to see one scene of a wonderful science fiction movie.Excellent!

Awesome ship, great lighting/texturing! That chromatic burnt metal shader for the surface is very tasty. Would love see a little more bounce light on the underbelly to see what I'm missing. Maybe you could run a little salvage vessal along side with some floods. : )

Out-bloody-standing! It is one of the elusive 'moments' that all artists are hoping for ... If anything -- I would have added ... say -- a trail of bits and pieces of wreckage trailing off into planet orbit, or the like. it would have been that little extra 'ummfph' for the eye candy department. Keep at it amigo! DirectedBy

When I was young I avidly read all the E. E. "Doc" Smith books I could get my hands on. I still have my 1973 Panther Books edition, and it's in my hand right now - so old that it doesn't have a barcode. You've made me want to do two things - read the book again and get back to doing images of derelicts! Thanks for such a great image, definitely one of the 'wow' images.
