Description

Even though it says Merry Christmas, consider it my holiday well wishing to you, no matter which holidays you celebrate! This was going to be my entry in Renderosity's Holiday contest, but then I read that you can't publish the image anywhere else until the contest winners are announced on Dec. 20th! There was no way I was going to let this sit on my hard drive for that long. And they make you post it to their contest in a tiny size (640x524) and a half-sized thumbnail (100x100). Kinda crappy IMO. Anyways, this was an absolute terror to render. It took 1.78GB of memory with texture filtering OFF. My machine only has 2 GB. Poser would get about 1/4 the way through and then stop and die. Thankfully I was able to render it in parts. I'd very much appreciate any comments you have on this image. It has the most postwork of any of my images, in fact it has more than all of them combined! Most of them have none, but this one just had too many Poser issues for me to leave them and I did originally intend to enter it into a contest. However, the postwork is limited to the framing, text, and fixing Poser artifacts and pose issues. Thank you very much looking and for your comments! Edit: Please leave feedback if you look. I am begging you.

I like it, it's great work, but she seems kind of out of place given the background. The colour (compared to the background) makes her stand out in a good way, but the 3d CGI vs the 2D background doesn't work so well. Working with 2d backgrounds and making it look right can be tricky business. Again, I like it, but something just seems off, and i'm guessing it's integration with the background.

A wonderful image! But Daru's not looking too merry there. Maybe she's impatient at the time it took to create the image while she stood out there in the snow? Or the fact that under her sumptuous and warm looking garb she's barefoot?

Ha Ha David! Look closely. You will see she does have boots on :) Aslo, her face does have just a hint of a smile. Too much and the image lost the rather solemn mood I was going for. Thank you all so much for taking the time to post your feedback!

Excellent work, but I can't help but wonder how warm she's going to be if she gets hit by a wind gust. At least she's not hip deep ina snowbank.

Tad strict looking in the face, otherwise a very nice render. She sort of has that "You were naughty, weren't you' look.
