It is well-known because of the old movie with Liselotte Pulver and the title "The spooky castle of the Spessart".

Such a warm, magical, welcoming schloss / castle. It does not look spooky at all, in the daylight, Rita. Is this in the Rhineland-Palatinate? Regards, John

Been there! Didn't know about the movie. It is quite spooky, even on a nice day passing for summer in Germany. Best visited after fortifying oneself with a Spessart Pils and a brotwuerst at the little bier stube nearby!
