I thought David Bowman said " My God, it's full of stars" cool picture...;-)oh yes, nice picture of Saturan but I thought the Discovery1 went to Jupiter.

In the book and the screenplay Discovery went to Saturn and the stargate/monolith was on Japetus. They switched to Jupiter in the movie because they felt it was "more dramatic." Frankly, what can be more dramatic than a huge planet with rings? But IMHO it is the greatest science-fiction movie ever made so I can't argue with it. :)
