Description

I don't say much about myself in these, but this one's a little different. I lost my father to cancer this year. An ealier piece "Sorrow" was one I did when it became clear that he wasn't going to recover. I have also been having a lot of health problems myself this year, and cancer was a possibility. I started this piece on the day the biopsy came back negative. I've had Poser for years and never done much with it, but it was in this year of trouble that I did, and it has been such a comfort, both to create and to enjoy the comraderie of others. Thanks for viewing. - - - Technical details/credits: I used four lights: one overhead spot for general illumination, one IBL w/ AO for fill, and two colinear spots for the heavenly light. One was full strength with no atmosphere, and the other was a little behind it at only 1% strength and shining through a shadow mask, but it had an atmosphere strenth of 50. I found that way I could get the shadowy amtospheric effect without actually casting visible shadows onto my figures. The final render was 20.5 hours on a P4-3.2GHz w/ 4GB RAM, Poser 6, SR2. That's the Alchemists Chasm from DAZ, a couple of V3's, Fantasy armor over at DAZ, and KOZ messy hair on the knight.

Beautiful and touching render. My Mom is currently struggling with cancer. So far treatments are not working, but we remain hopeful.
