I was seing your personages, and here, Hannya is like the materialistic woman, devil face, always behind with his couple the frog, that mean the adherence to a limited space and condition, with difficulties to go far, and the most of the time quiet without working. The bird, as the symnolisme of the liberty, the raison to go far, to fly away, etc, is evident gives to Hannya a friction she dislike it, like here, in this, also, technical achieved picture.

well, in Noh theatre Hannya is a kind of devil-woman, very angry: your "lecture" of this character, in the context of the image, is stimulating: i didn't catch the materialistic side, nor the "adherence to limited space and condition"... thanks a lot. probably i'll use these concepts in the future... the bird symbolizes innocence... ciao, rokko
