Description
This is one of the Orixas I like the most... He´s Oxossi ( read - Oshossee )...
He´s the hunter... and likes to stay alone inside the woods where he lives. He represents the primal idea of survival. He is mythologicaly close to Ogum, his older brother, as a reunion of old and the new, new activities and traditional ones. Both are Orixás where the energy is shown phisically. Same as his warrior brother, he lives outdoors, away from a stable and organized home. While Ogum gets in to the woods to fight wars and opens ways, Oxossi sees in it what it means and hides in it to hunt. His fights are in the woods, hunting animals that will provide for his tribe. He´s worshiped as a protector of the hunters and the provider of life. He protects either the one who kills the animal as the animal, since it´s an honorable death to die to give life to another being. He will never aprove killing for sport.
He´s the Lord of Nature, of wild animals and from those gets their virtues. He is as smart as the leopard, as strong as the lion, as light as the bird and as silent as the tiger. He observes as an owl and can hide as an armadillo. He´s as proud as the peacock, as fast as the rabbits and can climb like the apes. He knows all animals deeply and with them, he shares the essence of Nature. Oxóssi is te one that is enough for himself.

Excellent atmosphere. It really looks like a primal forest. I like very much that mist on the background that seems to fuse air and vegetation. Great character, pose and expression. Nice skin tone. His outfit is brilliantly done. Lord of wild animals?! Looks like he's my master then! 8-) Vote.

Beautiful image! I love the way they all tie together, both with the style of the image, and with the painted cloths. This one seems to be most like my own ways, if it were not for the insistence of the government that people pay taxes for property they've already paid for. :D Having to work just to make money for taxes cascades into having to live like a -- Hyu-Mon! :) ("human," that is, as a Klingon once expressed it.) So I have a car, wear relatively new clothes, and eat junk food to survive. (I do minimalize by living in an RV travel-trailer and driving a car that gets 38mpg, and I reduce, re-usse, recycle and buy recycled. Even my computer uses only 40 watts!)
