Description

Outside of the old city center(largely abandoned) a new city rises. Instead of the old steel, concrete and glass; completely new materials are being utilized. Nano-formed aerogels and carbon composites with tensile and compressive strength hundreds of times greater than steel make possible gargantuan structures a mile high, or more. New light sources and video screens composed of grid arrays of quantum dots are many times more efficient than incandescent lamps, and can generate light in any color of the rainbow. Now, if we can just convince them to replace the internal combustion engine, lol. Tech notes-All Buildings were built using Bryce and Wings3D. Textures are a combination of Bryce and PS. Minor tweaks and adjustments in PS. Thank you for looking!

Amazing! Great render. Maybe it needs a focal point that grabs the attention. But it's a great scene. Congrats!!!

Wow, that is some amazing city. I agree about a focal point, or a few to lead the eye around. Super work!

You might be right about the focal point part. I originally designed the city to use in background animation for a Sci-fi music video I'm producing for a local band, Meantyme, and their song "Looking Down on Tomorrow". Since it was background, and the band is the "focal point" I guess I didn't think so much about that, lol. Thanks!

Thsi is a very epic scene. I do agree about the focal point. An air car or something. Anyways the work is very impressive and gets my vote.

Great buildings. I'd like to see this at night. You're on to something here. I would keep at this. Add more traffic, lights, etc. Excellent work all around.

There's not one spot or focal point in this image that grabs the eye. It would be perfect as is for a background on a poster but as stand alone, add a really cool stand out building or one with cool neon lights that centers your attention.l Really awesome work on the buildings and it's just huge in it's depth...Great stuff!

I put off commenting on this - it was just too good for words, but I can't resist saying it - "A Towering Achievement". Brilliant stuff.
