Description
Got motivated to work on this one after doing the forum banners.
These guys are horseguard...probably my favorite formal uniform of all time. I happened to be walking by when they were changing the watch so I slipped into the tighly packed courtyard and took a few snaps.
I have another 3D render in my gallery, page 2, Jabrovian Horseguard, that was inspired by these guys.
I tend to get the feel of looking into a window when I look at framed or matted photos. I wanted the officer in the foreground to come across as though he is outside the window, thus helping the viewer feel as though they were a part of the scene rather than just an observer.
Thanks for looking!

really like that bit about the guard looking thru the frame.. makes it so surreal. Really great work.

Great work (and idea) on the frame. Had me inspecting each of the lads myself (grin).

Excellent capture and presentation.

Nice picture, the Blues and Royals have always been one of favourites too. Indeed one of the best uniforms.

Excellent job. I'll bet these guys would be a real hit at raves dancing around and swinging the tassles on their hats to everybodys enjoyment.

Fabulous capture, love the frame-effect, indeed, as if we're looking together to this inspection! Excellent work, very original! :)

Superb capture & Post. A real difficult outer frame decision & pulled it off quite well. Solids wouldn't quite do it. Bravo!

still the prettiest soldiers in the universe - at least it keeps them off the streets (from Belfast to Basra-sounds like a song title)
