This is the same flower as yesterday's but a soft leather texture and a blue tone seemed to bring out the brush strokes a little better, so here it is. Thanks for looking and thanks so much for your kind comments on my previous stuff as I learn this new medium. I really appreciate it... Maria

I find you get a better painting with the contrast between blue and yellow. The flower gets more important as subject

Although this indeed shows the painted brush strokes better, I prefered the sharper more realistic look of the 1st one. But what else would you expect from a 3D artist! ;)

One difference I've always admired about paintings vs photos is that a pretty photo is something I look at and enjoy once. A painting has nuances, depth in the brush stokes, and I find myself returning to them again and again. This, to me, is what you have so eloquently presented here.
