Description
Omphale soldiers patrol another easy conquest. Behind them: one of the twenty-seven Defence Net super-cannon with which New Colorado imagined it could secure its independence. Omphale has always despised projectile weapons as being incompatible with interstellar operations, but the DN guns at least held out the possibility of taking out starships outside the atmosphere. In the event, the planet failed even to detect the approach of the Omphale fleet. Anti-personnel pulses, aimed simultaneously at all twenty-seven of the super-cannon, rendered the planet defenceless. The planet is now swarming with Omphale groundtroops.
