Description

This was taken yesterday afternoon. Manual settings this time .. 300 mm zoom w/ 2x teleconverter. This is the first time in a long time I've used the 2x; just because I was never very good at taking a clear shot with it (it's so touchy) .. but I did pretty good yesterday I think ... a more steady hand and a better understanding of manual settings makes all the difference in the world. Happy Monday ... :) Shari

such shot without tripod is almost impossible; thus compliments to your steady hands; pity however is that the focus is on the grain not on the birds...

Two birds in one shot...manual and hand held..you're getting really good at this stuff. I agree with gwfa about the tripod. You really should give one a try. Listen to me..I should follow the same advice. Shari..excellent job getting those birdies. I bet your cats are hoping that you'll do more than photograph the birds...lol..

Impressive capture with your 600 mm effective lens! Quite sensitive to movements, yes, that's why I am usually on my way with a tripod. Wonderful work, Shari, you nailed them! :)

You must spend alot of time with a camera in reach to catch these beautiful shots. I always see them, and miss them by the time I grab the camera! This one is just lovely, with a wonderful setting! The Jays really stand out in the wintery scene.
