Description
I was working on these old-fashioned toys for my entry to the Holiday contest, but I didn't learn of the contest until a few days ago, so I really ran out of time to finish my idea. Next year I will start much earlier, but I still wanted to share the toys I created.
Other toys in the works are a rag doll, Lincoln Logs, a tin spinning top, a toy truck, a wooden train set for around the tree, and a few more wrapped packages.
Incidentally, if anyone has suggestions for other antique toys that I can work on, I'd love to take a stab at modelling them.
Happy Holidays to all.

Not bad!The green sled is quite nice, but I am not in love with the horse: needs a little more of a 'woody' look. Just my two cents worth.... Merry Christmas btw!

Thanks for the 2 cents, cshark. I completely agree about needing to look more "woody". When I attempted to texture it, I wanted that old-fashioned white-wash sort of look to it. I'm sure, with more effort, I will get it eventually, but the horse was my first model for this project and I wanted to move on. I love the sled (is it tacky to say that about my own work?). For both objects, I looked up actual plans on the internet for building the toys and used Modeler to build them to scale. It was loads of fun.
