Description

This is the Toyopet, Toyota's "popular" car. A blend of American, British, German and Italian features into something pleasantly unique. Rendered in VRay. Thanks for watching!

Lots of beetle in there actually. The roof and window lines , and the a bit of the hood :) Strange car indeed. And a perfect modell and render! VOTE!

This is a very unique automobile. I like it a lot better than the Beetle. It has a lot more character to me. Very well done :-)

Wow, it could look very modern for 1940s.

What can you say? It's brilliant. Just like it always is.

Thanks for the replies and the ranking! Yes, lots of Beetle here. But then so many cars evoked the Chrysler Airflow and the Beetle was no exception. I had scarce reference material so some details may still be corrected, but the general layout is here. The Bug had no vent windows or gas filler lid in 1947 so Toyota already offered more for the money... Additional view can be seen at http://www.palat.com.br/images/toyota/2.jpg

It is always illuminating to see 3D modelling applied to an object before it's invention. Everything must match. The drawings must somehow take three dimensional form. The unusual way the rear windows drop down is interesting on this one. The rneder seems museum quality. This is what I mean by the car as art, not just a prop.

Your passion for modeling cars is admirable and your talent for lighting them is enviable. I think at some point you should start selling these models. Your collection is impressive and I'm sure they would sell like hotcakes.

Is this a real model??? I had no idea Toyota even existed back then! anyway it resembles the German volkswagen very much, is that a coincidence?

Cool clean render .. would be cool to also see this placed in a real invironment, add a little mud/dirt to the low parts of the car, a road, grass etc. and perhaps a driver? Excellent stuff

Thanks again and i have updated the image with final details and a bolder angle. Yes this is real (the car i mean). I have been researching for Japanese vintage cars and found interesting stuff which i plan to model in a near future, taking a break from American and European classics. Japanese old cars have a style of their own. As for rendering against a "scene" and making it more realistic, well, i guess i am too lazy to go beyond the car itself...
