The fantasy and mythological watercolor art of Lisa Hunt.
   BIO:
Lisa started drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil in her hand. She spent her childhood sketching out the stories that she composed in her head. She loved fairy tales and mythology and derived many of her ideas from universal themes contained in such stories. She has been a professional artist all of her life, with many of her publications reflecting her interest in the feminine divine and the universal themes that are often connected with goddess mythology. Today, Lisa still beckons to the muses to create fantastical environments filled with warrior women, beasties of all shapes and sizes and other elements of her psyche. Lisa is the artist of three tarot decks; Shapeshifter Tarot, The Celtic Dragon Tarot, Animals Divine Tarot and most recently Fantastical Creatures Tarot (U.S. Games Systems), her fourth tarot deck. She is currently hard at work on another (to be announced).
Over the years she has illustrated numerous products including collectible gaming cards, book covers, interior book illustrations, magazines, calendars and a co-authored children's book. Her work has garnered awards and was chosen for inclusion in "The New Masters of Fantasy 2003": a collection of the year's best science fiction and fantasy artwork sponsored by Epilogue. Lisa has begun work on another collaborative tarot project with her friend D.J. Conway. It is projected to be published in early 2007 by U.S. Games. She is also the author/illustrator of Celestial Goddesses (Llewellyn: 2001) showcasing her intense interest in Goddess mythology. Her home on the web is Lisa Hunt Art -- feel free to visit any time!

What a great winter image! That's just what I feel like doing when the weather gets cold -- hibernating! Excellent concept and execution. My Vote

You have invoked the powers well in this image, and when the powers are invoked as in all things there must be a price. That is what true magic is about, if you use it there is always a price to pay as you are using part of nature, and that is what this image says to me. Well done indeed.

Wow! First.... I can't believe I didn't know about your gallery? Second, I love this, for the charm and enchantment that is your art, but what really touches my heart is the bear asleep in the cave... you captured that angelic expression of puppy, cub, babe sleeping... makes me want to kiss my dog when they sleep so peacefully. And the minimal palette is so masterfully utilized.
