Description

Another shot from beautiful Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. This was taken about a month ago. I assume someone stacked these rocks which look to me like some cartoonish caveman face. I just thought it was really a neat and fun shot. ENJOY TODAY

Gee Ray, I don't know about someone stacking these rocks. They are a heck of a lot bigger than the house beside them lol. Seriously though, if it weren't for the odd shaped long horizontal one just below the top of the stack, i would assume it was a natural arrangement but they do appear tp be pretty big. It is a beautiful part of the world. Such blue skys and rugged terrain make for a nice composition.

Yes! This is a famous sculpture! Modeled after Ugghh, the inventor of rock throwing! Ugghh was a genius in his own mind, and his unique use of rocks as balista, quickly caught on! Alas, his invention backfired on him as he was stoned to death by his own tribe!! Wonderful picture!! Good times...good times....

Great depth of field, Ray. To me, the orange cross member looks like an arrow from the well-known cartoon. Great scenery. -- Dick

Love the variety of this capture, rocks, shrubs, trees, green grass, road, building, hills and mountains and snow, and those thin clouds, and eventually my eye goes back to the funny cartoonish caveman face and I cannot but smile! :) Fantastic work, very original!
