Description

Here is a picture of 1963 Corvette Stingray.

Mesh was made by Alain Bouchet

Materials are mine - while designing materials, I made a lot of use of new "incident angle" node - while applied to reflectivity channel it let's you simulate Fresnel reflections from glossy materials like car varnish or glass bubble. Scene lighting uses radiosity and HDRI mapped sky. Rendered with Vue 5 Infinite.

The model is available on e-on's Cornucopia

Really nice, maybe a bit too reflective at some angles, but other than that, great.

The paint is great. The front fenders have way too much hump and the wheels are C3. I have seen photos of collector cars with those wheels so it is a sign owners want to customize. I was looking for a C2 that someone built in Carrara I saw in the yahoogroup a few months ago but I could not find it. So nice this one has appeared. Base on what now know about building models from photographs I would say the car is probably too short as all the perspective was not taken out of it and even the attempts yield too much "pullaway" at each end. this happens in memory builds too as the eye seems the same perspective as photographs. I'm in fine shape today and this is not personal. I see a fine beginning and a fine end both in this.

Excellent materials! You have done an outstanding job creating them. Since you didn't create the the model you have been unduely critisized on that aspect of this image. And as for the wheels comment tallpindo made an incorrect assement as these are not C3 wheels they are C2 ('65-67)true Knock-Off style wheels and although they didn't come on the '63s many people do retro fit them to the 63 and 64 cars and look quite natural on this car to me. As for the to much reflectivity nope not for me. There again put enough clear on a well painted car and this is what you would see, been to enough custom car and Corvette shows to know (as well as having done custom paint on my own Corvettes) Once again excellent job on this supper image. Very good textures. A hint of V-Ray quality to the render. Excellent!

Excellent work. Looks somewhere between a photo and a photo-realistic painting. I like the effect. Excellent material work too.
