Description

This image is probably as near to a photograph as I can manage with Terragen. The colouration and brightness/contrast of the ambient lighting has been closely matched to an actual digital image of a similar terrain. Hope it looks real to someone out there in Terragen world. Thanks for all your recent comments. Please feel free to criticize this one...

looks very nice, excellent job all round, especially with object input and lighting. If I could add a couple things that might improve the realism. If you could add slight more of the background coloring to the stone, and maybe just dropped the opacity of that layer 4 or 5%. Then, the grass in front looks great, but if you created another child for the background with a slightly smoother surface. Also, just wondering what render size you used. Might be able to use something higher. Lovely image though, Bravo!

I have pictures similar to this as well from the northern islands off of Scotland, the stone is perfect!!!! You see them all over the highlands... and you've done this beautifully. Deep, rich colors, excellent POV, beautiful surfacing and light... a magnificent image... (waiting for one of the wee folk to step from behind that stone) Excellent work...

Beautifully realistic. Your sky is very well done. Only one thing: try to mirror horizontally the stone, because of the direction of the lighting, and add a little shadow to it... And it will be perfect!

Excellent render Rob!!....I've allways liked those images of a desolate/bleak landscape with the inclusion of a "Standing stone"...(or stones)...you know..the kind of image that makes you think "What?,Who?,Why???.....By the way...killer atmos man!!
