Description
I'd like to wish everyone here at Renderosity a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I do have a question for the experts here. Why do I get the waves of different shades of green in the backgound? The background looks smooth until I upload it here.
As always thank you for all the nice and helpful comments.

This is very pretty! Beautiful for a Christmas card!! A couple of things that could cause the waves are too much compression of the image when saving to jpg, and/or not high enough resolution of the original image. Looks like this might be an Ultra Fractal render, and I'm not familiar with issues in this program that might cause that. Still...a wonderful fractal!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

I'm no expert...but looks like jpeg compression artifacts. Not sure what program you're using for postwork, but setting the compression ration higher would help solve some of this. Your image is 78K and if you'll notice, most images here are in the 300 to 400K range. I also see this "banding" sometimes when I brighten/contrast an image in PSP. Lovely image nonetheless...

A beautiful fractal. I'm not sure why this happens, but possibly saving it as a GIF might make a difference. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
