Description
Back home we are treated on an interesting sunset. The clouds and little precipitation here and there are lit by the sun, warming this landscape with its warm rays. The slide captures the contrasts well but my slide-scanner can't handle those contrasts.
Today it's December 21, the December solstice, that means that days on the northern hemisphere won't become any shorter from this point. Funny detail is, that the sun is close to earth and will reach it's closest distance somewhere in the first week of January (perihelium of the sum), causing summers to be slightly warmer on the southern hemisphere compared with the summers on the northern hemisphere.

Fabulous scene again JC. I was looking at venus the other evening, i've never seen it so bright, apparently it can cast a shadow just now its so close. Thats it though I'm off to the southern hemi for a tan.
