Another step forward. For some reason I always remembered Tubs as Sgt. Tubs. Upon re-reading the original Bode' story, this is not so. No rank was ever assigned to either one of them. All we know is that both were deigned total incompetants by one of the lead characters. Tubs was characterized as "a born coward trying to escape a howlin', naggin' wife and six kids". Pepperbox was "a lead head fascist who wants to rule the world". Not what'cha call 'real promising material'. Nonetheless, I am moved to continue with some of the others in the tale.
