I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

You're not the only one to lose a dear friend recently--Fractelaar, an artist over in the fractal gallery, just lost his dog, Lingo, after having him for a long time. My Dear Friend Bob, The day you called to tell me about having to let Cookie go brought back the day I had to do the same with my best friend Sammy. I could hear the sadness and tears in your voice. At that moment I didn't know quite what to say other then I'm so sorry Bob. I want you to know that cookie must has loved you very much because I know from personal experience what a truly wonderful friend you are. Sammy has been gone for 8 years now and still to this day I sometimes catch a glimpse of him sitting looking out the back door. Then I snap back to reality and but know he's still here with me . A true friend forever. Feel assured my Friend that cookie will be with you to. Love you Bud.

Anyone who believes that it is power and money that make the world go round are sadly mistaken. It's love, pure and simple. And this is a fine example, as fine as it gets, my Friend. I am sorry about your loss, Bob, but I am sure you know that 'tis better to have loved and even risked all doing it... Big man hugs to you and Barb.

I thank each and every one of you who visited this tribute - it means a lot to us. And now, I think 'Cookie' finally understands why we spend so much time at this computer. She is at peace; and, free of pain.

wonderful touching words here and they are filling my heart! better you cannot explain how much pain you feel about this great loss! the cute image and reminder of your darling makes very sad. Sending my deepest sympathies and warmest hugs to you in this difficult time! But you will have wonderful memories because a pet always presents a lot of joy you could share with your family. You will miss her but also be glad to share wonderful years with her! ;o))))))

oh Bob, I am so very sorry...I just now received the email and immediately came here to visit the memorial...I understand well the grief you both are experiencing, but it speaks volumes of how much you loved Cookie...for every yin, there is yang...you love deeply, but that also means at some point you will hurt deeply as well...for you can not love like that and simply close the book when that chapter comes to a close...I hope happy memories and knowing she must have loved you both just as much, will help comfort you through these times...our thoughts and condolences are with you Bob & Barb...Karen & David
