Description

Venus (Greek: Aphrodite; Babylonian: Ishtar) is the goddess of love and beauty. Venus has been known since prehistoric times. It is the brightest object in the sky except for the Sun and the Moon. Venus's apparition as the morning star is also sometimes called Lucifer. - from http://www.nineplanets.org/venus.html Have a Happy Holiday! Oh, F*ck That - Let me be totally un-politically correct and say with joy in my heart MERRY CHRISTMAS! ~ MERRY CHRISTMAS! ~ MERRY CHRISTMAS! ~ MERRY CHRISTMAS! ~ MERRY CHRISTMAS! ~ MERRY CHRISTMAS! & a Happy New Year! Ya know there are people (ACLU) that are trying to abolish Christmas. And they're doing a darn good job of it! Now I'm not a real religious person, but the idea of Christmas should remain in all of our hearts. The feeling of being just a little bit nicer to each other. The joy we feel when helping out someone maybe not as fortunate as ourselves. The look the UPS delivery guy gives you when you hold the door open for him! Abolish Christmas? Not in my lifetime! Not if I can help it! (I'll climb off my soap box now. Thank you.)

Ohh Venus is portrayed wonderfully in this dynamic image! She's more than welcomed to spend Christmas at my place I must say! I just hope she leaves her brother Mars at home! LOL! She's just screaming with passion here and boy am I missing out! As far as abolishing Christmas goes, they certainly did a fantastic job of multilating pledge of allegiance, so anything is possible I suppose. Don't these people have anything constructive to do during the day? Perhaps we should round them up and send them to Uranus where they belong! Excellent work, Audra, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you!!

LOL! Loved your soapbox, Hon! I'm not Christian, but we still celebrate the holiday here. And with 2 little kids who really look forward to visits from the big guy in the red suit, it's much more fun! Merry Christmas, Hon! Happy Yule, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and happy any old day you want to celebrate!!! hugs

I hear that and I think its sad. The next thing that going to happen is if you're a Christian you're going to get locked up or even killed!! Sign of the times!! Gorgeous image sweetie and you stay on that soapbox as long as you want!! Merry Christmas and many happy returns in the new year!!! Excellent work!!

This image is totally awesome. Fantastic use of the bright colors and the pose. And don't even think of getting off that soapbox, as a matter of fact move over and make room for one more. I'm so sick and tired of people worrying about being 'politcally correct' (what kind of term is that anyway?) that they bend over backwards not to offend or go out of their way to placate every fruit cake that thinks their ideas should override OUR national traditions. I usually don't spout off but...!!!! Have a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic new year.

Well Baby-Girl you know my thoughts on this considering that we are in the no spin zone. The Christmas holiday is not just for Christians it is for everybody to celebrate happiness and joy. I believe that's what the Big Guy had in mind. And what in the world is wrong with Christmas carols? What's wrong with the nativity scene? What's wrong with saying Merry Christmas? Nothing! So what if its on a public property, other religions can have there symbols up but not the Christians. Come on gimme a break! I could go on and probably get a lot people angry with me. Not because of what I say but because I am right in what I say. No spin Baby-Girl! Oh yeah, I love your artwork! Always fantastic and expressive. ILY!

First: Great interpretation of Venus. Awesome work ^.^. Second: Why always be nice to each other around christmas? Does it have to be scheduled? Now it's christmas, love each other and on the 27th it's allright to be the f***wits again? Sorry to bitch here, but this is exactly what makes me freak out these days. Anyways: merry christmas and a happy new year (maybe humans really need this break and time of peace)

Awesome image! Ya know, I'm a little bit mad about that, too! There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying Happy Holidays as it's so broad term. I did such a thing with some of my artwork because I know I'm going to reach people all over the world, but to not be able to say Merry Christmas in my own country? Screw that. What I don't understand is why people get so offended? If you don't celebrate Christmas, why not just say thank you and move on. It's not like people are looking to offend you on purpose. And if you are going to take offense, why not educate your neighbors about your beliefs so that we can give you the proper greeting? I don't know about you, but I've always been curious about how other people celebrate this time of the year. It is very sad to see in the US that we are slowly losing long time traditions because of our melting pot.

A little late, but... Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you, too! May this year be even better than the last. Your Venus is absolutely lovely, too. I like that you superimposed (I'm not sure if that's the right term I'm looking for) the woman / goddess over the planet.
