Description
The Devi Dances
This is an interpretation of the Hindu Goddess Durga, who slays demons both real and metaphorical. She is one of the three main 'destroyer goddesses. Usually she's portrayed riding a lion but attempting that left my eyes crossed for weeks!
The sword she carries (unsurprisingly) slays demons but also symbolises wisdom, the battle against ignorance and destruction.
The lotus she carries and on which she stands has a variety of meanings depending on whether or not the flower is open. In this case they symbolise beauty and eternal renewal.
The discus (chakra) that hovers over her top left hand and is both a weapon and symbolises the cycle of life and death. It was a gift from Visnu.
The bow symbolises the power of love but also the death wish.
The gesture of her lower left hand means that she has a gift or a blessing for her devotee and her lower right hand means "Don't be afraid, you're under my protection."
No less than three V3s, Kimshara by 3Dream, Blackhearted's henna textures (again!) and DAZ's Veil Dancer (retextured) for the Morphing Starlet Dress. Background gradient and cosmic ocean in Photoshop.
A big huggles to nysalor for the three body idea and endless help in the DAZ Studio learning curve.

What a gorgeous, healing image. The knowledge and care you put into this is really apparent. I love the mudras. Just beautiful. :)
