The Cherokee in me appreciates this too, but the Europeans came not to spread religion, they came to either get away from their governments in their home countries (like the pilgrims) or they came for conquest like the Conquistadores. Slaves were mere property that got traded amongst all the cultures. I don't prescribe to the ideal that Religion is at the fault of everything, mankinds freewill will always be its downfall, not the winds of doctrine.
