I have made a big cats 2006 calendar. I will be selling it for $20. I will be shipping overseas. In creating this calendar, I had to scour the internet for suitable reference pictures. In doing so, I was amazed and horrified at how many pictures came up of hunters and their slain victims. These animals are hunted for sport. It is sickening. I do not understand how anyone could harm such beautiful creatures as these. Sadly, this goes on all over the world, with all species of animals. This senseless slaughter must be stopped. The only way we can begin to stop it is to start by respecting animals as living creatures. I am still surprised how many people walk this earth as if they have more right to be here than any other creature. I see so much disregard for others' lives and I still do not understand why. People can torture, maim, and kill any animal they please, and walk away with a couple of hours of community service, but when a person so much as threatens another person, much more legal action is taken. I watch animal rescue shows and see kittens who are punched so hard that they are blinded for life. I see dogs set on fire. I see horses starved to death. And every time, it amounts to virtually nothing for the people who committed the injustices. They get about as much punishment as they would for cheating on a test, or stealing a gumball from the candy machine. It is pathetic. Animals are not treated with respect in the United States by a lot of people. I cannot change the laws, but I can do my part in helping rescue abused animals and endangered species. I believe that the fight for greater good for animals must start with at least one person. To do my part in rescuing animals, I have decided to create calendars depicting their grace and beauty. In purchasing this calendar, you are also doing your part, because 25% of the profit from each calendar sold will be donated to organizations devoted to preserving and protecting animals, such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
