Description

Comacchio(Ferrara) - Emilia Romagna - Italy Comacchio is a charming lagoon city dating back to the Late Roman Period. It is built on 13 little islands in the middle of wide marshlands. The present old town centre offers witness to the past: beautiful churches and monuments among bridges overlooking canals. For instance there is the Trepponti Bridge from the 17th Century, which was the former town entrance gate. The monumental Bridge of the Trepponti, the door of the deliberate town from the cardinal ferrarese Giovan Battista Pallotta during the first part of the century XVII. The Trepponti becomes' emblem, the symbol of the lagoon town and Luca Danese, plan and author of the drawing of the manufactured article from which leave and distribute themselves the roads of water the means a thick net of channels. The Trepponti includes five spacious staircases (three previous and two rears) to arc to sixth everything, culminating in entirely of stone of Istria.
