Description

This is an Assasin Bug, isn't the name fitting? I am terrified of these things (even more than spiders) because they can fly! They can also sting you with that big nasty red fang they have. ...shivers.... Anyway I was hanging around my jatropha shooting some photographs when out of the corner of my eye some brown thing comes flying by and lands, it was Mr. Creepy here. I did the best I could to get a close shot, have I mentioned that I am terrified of them! Anyway I was going to post a better macro of another bug but I just had to share this one today. I will be away for a few days, and will try to get busy with some commenting and showing you some more macros which I am finally getting the hang of with the new camera! Good Lord! That's what that thing is?! I've seen these around my place too. Guess who else doesn't like them. Yes... the same woman who has crawled around on her back, under a spiders web just so she could get the right shot Nothing beats when you're driving and suddenly there's a spider dangling down in front of your face. The things we go through. Thanks for cluing us in on these nasty buggers.

Great shot of a very unique looking critter. My freak out is scorpions, lol. Spiders, snakes, other bugs no problem. Takes some gumption to get close to what scares us. Congrats.
