Description

Here's what I've been doing over the past few days. The model is based on the excellent modeling/texturing tutorial from Anders Lejczak (bazze). The pilot in the front plane is also from his site (www.colacola.se). The sky is from TotalTextures Vol.2 The smoke is done with PyroCluster I don't know anything about aviation and I don't think that a plane with such a camouflage texture has ever existed because I put the texture together from different reference images. ************************************************ Have a happy new year Patrick

I think if you would add some contrails to the other planes in the back ground you would get a better looking render. Over all I think its great work of art. I also like the way you did the smoke on the damage plane.

Very well done. I'm also working on my first model based on Bazze's tutorial. Only two critics comes to my mind... The other planes flying with the same attitude as the crashing one makes the illusion less beleivable. Also, I'm not sure about the color scheme. On the plus side, your model is very well, done, the smoke is perfect and the lighting harmonizes superb with the sky plate. Congrats on a job well done.

holy crap - I thought I was looking at my own model there for a while :) Great job! I have 2 small suggestions for improvement - 1) I think the propeller is just a tad too small. 2) The textures look a bit blurred. I think this can be fixed by setting the blur scale to -100%. It's very fun to see that you completed the project!

I love how you produced the dirty textures on the plane, and the smoke looks great. I'm no aviation expert (I'm sure the comments above will help you improve), but this looks very good to me. My compliments!

Thank you all for your comments & suggestions. Indead, the textures look blurred. I think I forgot to set Sampling to SAT which I normally do for the final render. It's a good thing that I rendered the hole image in several passes, so I will be easy to make the propeller bigger (at least I think...)

Nicely done. I agree that the crashing plane should be at a different attitude to the rest. Because they seem to be flying in formation you don't get a sense they're doing battle and wonder what shot at the damaged plane. Great work with the PyroCluster. I'm still trying to figure it out! This has made me want to do another aviation image. Mak
